Welcome to the Workshop!

At the end of the workshop you should be able to:

  • use relevant ICT tools to support inquiry-based learning

  • design an inquiry-based lesson integrated with ICT

Notes to teachers:
This workshop also aims to demonstrate how the thematic approach of the LSS syllabus can be brought across through the activities, each of which focuses on a subject discipline, yet which are linked by the thematic idea of ‘interaction’.
The flow of the topics to be explored through the activities is planned to facilitate the execution of the workshop. It does not aim to simulate what can happen in the actual classrooms within weeks, or even months, as the scheme of work can differ from school to school. We hope it shows you, nonetheless, what could possibly be done, in a compressed timescale.

Hence, we strongly encourage you to constantly reflect about the connections between the activities and their topics throughout the workshop (please do it on Webspiration and invite us to view it ). Although we have our own ideas about the linkages, we would like you to form your own linkages as meaningful learning takes place only when learners construct the meaning themselves.

Some questions for you to think about…

How is the thematic idea related to the topic of the activity?
How is the thematic idea related to the activity?

How can the concepts of each topic/activity be linked to those of the next/other? Should there be a linear flow of the concepts? If there is, is there a better sequence?
